Terri Moore, First Assistant

Terri MooreMs. Moore joined the Dallas County District Attorney’s (DA) Office in January of 2007.  Prior to joining the Dallas County DA’s Office, Ms. Moore worked as an Assistant United States Attorney, Northern District of Texas, from May 1997 to August 2001, and as a Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney (ADA) from 1987 to 1997.  During her tenure as a Tarrant County ADA, Ms. Moore worked her way from misdemeanor prosecutor to deputy chief of the criminal division.  A native of Cleburne, Texas, Ms. Moore earned a Juris Doctorate degree in 1986 from South Texas College of Law in Houston, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981 from Texas Christian University.

 

An active member of the legal community, Ms. Moore is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Criminal Law; served on the Tarrant County Bar Association Board of Directors from 1999 to 2001; as president of the Eldon Mahon Inn of Court from 2000 to 2001; is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation; a Tarrant County Bar Foundation Charter Fellow and a member of the Tarrant County Crime Prevention Resource Center Board of Directors.

 

Additionally, Ms. Moore received the Outstanding Law Enforcement Award from DFW Federal Executive Board in 2001; the Chief Postal Inspector’s Award for landmark Internet child pornography prosecution in 2001 and the Outstanding Woman of Fort Worth by the Fort Worth Commission on the Status of Women in 2000.  A noted speaker, First Assistant Moore has served as a guest lecturer for the Department of Justice in 1995; for the National College of District Attorneys in 1996 and 1997 and for the State Bar of Texas Advanced Criminal Law Course in 1993, 1995, 1999, 2000 and 2001.
